Seven social media highlights of the preliminary round

HIGHLIGHTS: The EHF EURO 2018 Preliminary Round was not only fascinating on court and in the stands, it was also a lot of fun on our social media channels. We’ve rounded up our favourite moments

With the EHF EURO 2018 active on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube, there is plenty of behind-the-scenes coverage, highlights from the court, and a bit of fun, to be found under the tournament’s official hashtags #ehfeuro2018 and #hypnoticgame.

As we prepare for the exciting main round, we’ve rounded up the best moments caught by our team on social media.

1. The incredible superman-like shot above from Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson was scored during Iceland’s decisive Group A encounter against Serbia. Best rebound goal ever?

2. Though Croatia finished their preliminary campaign in Split with a loss to Sweden, fans in Spaladium could celebrate a huge milestone for Ivan Cupic. The right wing reached 150 goals in the last Group A match, and needs just one more to tie legendary Ivano Balic’s record as Croatia’s all-time top EHF EURO goal scorer.

3. Now for some off-court highlights: Our Snapking Brian tested FYR Macedonia’s geography knowledge with hilarious results. Check out the video!

4. Speaking of Snapchat, make sure you follow us on EHF_Live for a light-hearted look at the action – like this moment during the opening Group C clash between FYR Macedonia and Slovenia. There’s also plenty of EHF_Live content to enjoy on Twitter.

5. You, handball fans, are doing an amazing job creating a spectacular atmosphere for the matches in Croatia. Which country has the best-dressed supporters?

6. Here we have some happy Croatians, after their first Group A win, against Serbia. We love seeing how much the hosts enjoy the atmosphere around the tournament!

7. The brother versus brother challenge: Ahead of the Spain versus Denmark clash to wrap up Group D in Varazdin, we put Alex and Daniel Dujshebaev, and Rene and Henrik Toft Hansen to the test. See how well they know each other below:
