EHF EURO teams ready for final tests ahead of championship

NEWS: All 16 participants of the Men’s EHF EURO 2018 are in action over the next few days as they get in shape for the final tournament

The preparation for the Men’s EHF EURO 2018 in Croatia from 12 to 28 January enters its final lap with all 16 participants taking to the court for test matches over the coming days.

Already on Thursday the first two matches of the Golden League take place in Rouen, France. At 18:30 hrs, world champions France face Norway; Denmark play Egypt at 20:45 hrs.

Also on Thursday World Championship 2017 bronze medallists Slovenia play a friendly against Iran. The squad of head Veselin Vujovic then has two more tests scheduled against Serbia; the first on 8 January, the second on 10 January.

Defending EHF EURO champions Germany play their two final friendlies on 5 and 7 January against Iceland. On the same days Austria play neighbouring Czech Republic.

Hosts Croatia only test once; on 5 January against Montenegro in Split, the city where they will also be based for their Group A matches against Serbia, Iceland and Sweden.

There is only one test as well for the Macedonian team: on 5 January they play against Serbia.

Sweden and Hungary play a double-header against each other on 6 and 8 January.

From 5 to 7 January, Spain and Belarus reside in the Spanish cities of Vigo and Pontevedra where they play in the 43rd International Handball Tournament in memory of Domingo Bárcenas. The teams of Argentina and Poland complete the field at this tournament.
